The Art of Moving Forward...

This past weekend I was fortunate enough to attend a two day workshop called The Art of Moving Forward.  Fantastic doesn't begin to describe how wonderful this workshop was for me!  I made new friends and received a wealth of information on how to take my art work and make it a business.  The speakers were wonderful and the information ranged from marketing strategies and social media to licensing your art work and more.

I had forgotten what it was like to sit in a room full of like-minded individuals, and let me tell you that IT IS POWERFUL!  My energy was so high and my muse went into overdrive!  I couldn't write fast enough and I had to keep flipping back and forth between taking notes on the speaker and writing down my ideas as they spewed from my brain!  I'm still writing...!

This workshop was just what the doctor ordered!  I had been feeling stuck and not sure of where to go with my art...now I'm recharged and ready to move forward!  I recommend finding other artists with similar goals to your own to "hang out" with every now and then.  There is nothing better than having that authentic understanding from someone who "knows" the ins and outs of your passion for creativity and art.

I try and meet once a week to paint with an artist friend of mine, and whether we accomplish any painting isn't even where the value of those meetings lie...it's in the understanding, and the sharing of that passion and drive to create! When we meet, we are generating ideas, inspiration, positive energy and the spark we need to keep "moving forward".  So get out there and find someone to meet with if you can.  Join an art guild, or co-op, a drawing or painting group, meet for coffee....whatever, just don't isolate yourself as an artist!

Thanks for visiting my blog!
