These are some of the unfinished pieces I have laying around here and there, and this isn't even half of it! I don't know why, but I constantly get "stuck" and don't know what to do next, or I loose interest all together! Luckily I do revisit my pile of unfinished business and occasionally I turn out something really cool. I'm just wondering if anyone else out there has piles of half finished artwork laying around, and if you do, what do you do with yours? Any hints on how to rid myself of this unfortunate pattern?

Oi! I love your work, those first two are amazing! Now as for organizing....I wish I could offer you something; sometimes I think it's just something that you do naturally. I'm totally anal myself so being organized comes all to natural, but I'm sure it's something you could learn too.
ReplyDeleteB, you would have to laugh if you saw my bookshelf with all my "how to organize" books! I even bought an ebook on how to organize. I've been battling it all my life! What's even funnier is that I actually can organize things in a spatial way really well, like when having to pack a car, or suitcase. I think my main problem is maintaining organization! I can get things all nice and tidy, but it doesn't last long! I guess it's my random, distractible brain that's at fault! Yes....I'll blame it on my brain.
ReplyDeleteIf I get stuck it is something I usually do, set aside a piece of art. I think it can be a good way to work and works for me. I set it aside and it seems the rest from the work usually gets an idea flowing. It might just be me but it does seem to work for me.
ReplyDeleteThank you Mac, I guess that's what I'll do with them for now. Some have been set aside for awhile, but someday the ideas will hit me, and I'll finish them into something great!
ReplyDeleteYou could photocopy your art and use the copies to host a UFO party,
ReplyDelete(unfinished Object) and/or a round robin. It might be interesting to see how your friends finish them. without ruining the originals of course.
Teri, what a great Idea! I've never heard of doing that before. Problem is I really only have one artist friend! I love this idea though. Thanks for your feedback!
ReplyDeleteI love your work. I can't get enough!
ReplyDeleteThank you So much SCKELLEYARTIST! It's my Birthday, and this was a great little birthday present from you! It makes me so happy to know that others enjoy my art!
