Soldering Art Glass Pendants: A Video Tutorial

I was asked recently how I made the art glass pendants I posted a while back.  I'm no pro at this technique and am still very much a novice, but I found this video on YouTube and I think it explains everything you need to know to start making your own soldered art glass pendants.  I have also listed another tutorial under My Pages on the right hand sidebar.  It's listed under the Non-Video tutorial page or you can click here.  One last note, here is what I used to make my soldered glass pendants, a starter kit from SimplySwank.Net

  1. Hi, thanks for stopping by my blog. You should open an etsy it really get easy once you get started. As far as my faces, I print them out, sometimes I reverse the image or change the shading or tuning a bit before I print. I use Picasa. I sometimes cut them out and glue them to backgrouds I have painted, printed or collaged. I sometimes paint over the faces or prints to change them around a bit. It is really basic stuff! Thanks for you comments!

  2. Rut roh... I feel another art addiction coming on. Make that 2. I saw the dominoes. Go me easy! lol Great blog and welcome, welcome, welcome to Woodstock Lily's. It's nice to see your pretty face hanging on my wall. xx

  3. Hi there! This is a good read. I will be looking forward to visit your page again and for your other posts as well. Thank you for sharing your thoughts about art glass in your area. I am glad to stop by your site and know more about art glass. Keep it up!
Most antique art glass was made in factories, particularly in the UK, the United States, and Bohemia, where items were made to a standard or "pattern". This would seem contrary to the concept of art glass as distinctive and showing individual skill. However, the importance of decoration in the Victorian era in particular meant that much of the artistry lay with the decorator. Any assumption today that factory-made items were necessarily made by machine was not generally so. Up to the end of the 1930s the majority of processes involved in making decorative art glass were performed by hand.
