Something new I have been working on...

Inspired by Jesse Reno's layered style, this painting is beginning to take shape! The process is taking me longer than usual, the reason being...once I have a layer that looks sort of decent...I have a hard time letting it go and seeing something different. If you have watched the video of Jesse's painting process, you'll understand what I am talking about...take a look at the video in this post...

I'm having a hard time with trying to post with this blogging app on my iPad...I'm not sure that link will show once I post this. In fact I'm not even sure this post will be there on my blog once I post it because the last one I tried to post from this app showed up on my Facebook page but then disappeared from my blog... So while I'm sharing this work in progress...I'm also experimenting with this app.

Do any of you blog with an iPad? If so...any tips you can throw my way?

    1. Thanks Diane, that's the hard part about Jesse's painting process...he covers up stuff that all ready looks great. I have had a really hard time covering up parts of this painting, I just have to keep an open mind and keep changing things until I'm satisfied. Hope I didn't go too far in the end!

    1. Thank you so much! I love using white and black to make a painting "Pop". I used a Bic whiteout pen...learned that from Traci Bautista!

  4. This is so cool! I watched his video--it's really interesting but I had a hard time watching him cover up an area that I thought looked good! I'm a fan of the layers but I do like it when something shows through. Really like your colors and the use of touches of black and white.

    1. Thank you so much! I know what you mean. I had a hard time watching that too. I guess as the artist you just have to keep going until you feel it's "right". It's a great exercise in letting go of control and keeping an open mind to new possibilities. I guess that's what I love about this technique!

  5. I really like this one! There's something about adding black & white to a colorful image that really makes it exciting.

    1. Thanks for stopping by and for your nice comment! I love the bright colors too...I've been contemplating using a new color palette, but I always end right back with the bright and vivid colors for some reason!
